Pediatrician for Milton, GA Families

Milton families tend to know exactly why they live here. Wide lots off Hamby Road and Providence Road, Saturday mornings at Bell Memorial Park, dinner at the Crabapple crossroads on Mayfield Road and the quick run down Deerfield Parkway toward Alpharetta: this is a city that grew on purpose, without becoming crowded. Across 30004 and 30009, a lot of parents want the same thing from their pediatrician that they wanted from their neighborhood. They want it personal.

That has been The World of Pediatrics since 1989. We’re a mother-daughter practice now caring for four generations of families, and we work to keep your child with the same provider for well visits, physicals and chronic care. Our office at 3255 North Point Parkway, Suite 102, in Alpharetta is a short drive from Milton by way of Windward Parkway or Deerfield Parkway to GA 400.

Many Milton families deliver at Northside Hospital, where more metro Atlanta babies are born than anywhere else, or at Wellstar North Fulton Hospital in Roswell. Wherever your baby arrives, the steps with us are simple. Here are the questions Milton parents ask us most in those first days.

Before your due date. Look over our practice, check that your insurance is on our list of accepted plans and save our number in both phones. You’re welcome to call the office with questions before the baby comes.

Call us at the time of discharge and we’ll book your baby’s first visit for the next business day. We see newborns within 24 to 48 business hours of hospital discharge. New patient forms are electronic, so you can finish them online before you arrive.

  • A full newborn exam
  • Your baby’s weight compared with birth weight
  • A feeding check, whether you’re breastfeeding, formula feeding or doing both
  • A jaundice check and a plan if follow-up is needed
  • Umbilical cord care and what to watch for at home

That’s common, and it’s a big part of what we do in the early weeks. We bring babies back for extra weight checks when they need closer watching, and we spend time on the practical questions: how much, how often, latch and bottle troubles, spit-up and sleep.

Your hospital discharge papers, your insurance card and the list of questions you’ve been keeping since you got home.

Our office is split down the middle. The sick side has its own waiting room and its own exam rooms. So does the well side. That means a baby in for a weight check, or a toddler at a checkup, never sits where a feverish patient just sat, in the lobby or in the exam room. If your baby is the one who’s sick, we see them on the sick side, start to finish. Many offices only separate the waiting area and then send everyone back to the same exam rooms. Ours stays separate the whole visit.

Yes. We follow the American Academy of Pediatrics schedule and the Red Book, and mandated vaccinations are required for every patient in the practice. That protects the newborns and infants in our office who are too young to be fully vaccinated. Well-child visits track growth, development and milestones at each age.

We complete Georgia school, daycare and sports forms, including Form 3300, at the visit when your child is cleared. A physical is a screening, so if something comes up, such as chest pain while running, we’ll explain the next step. That may be a follow-up visit or clearance from a specialist before the form is signed.

Call us for a same-day sick visit. Sick visits go to the first available provider, and your child is seen on our sick side for fevers, ear pain, sore throats, rashes and coughs.

We do, with the same provider whenever possible. Plans and medications are adjusted as your child grows, and we coordinate with pediatric specialists when a referral makes sense.

Behavioral and mental health is part of our primary care. A provider who already knows your child is a good first conversation, and we refer to pediatric behavioral specialists when more support is needed.

“…Through it all both Drs. Vayman have been and still are supportive, professional, and extremely informative, and I trust both of them with the well-being of my children. In the rare cases they don’t have an immediate answer, they have worked to help us find the resources to get the answers. They also help with resources for the family as a whole and notice when dynamics change, even the small ones, and work to make sure we all stay healthy physically, mentally, and emotionally. Our oldest graduates from them this year, but we still have quite a few years with our others. They are truly a pair of diamonds in their profession. They both love children and it definitely shines through!”

Dr. Rosalie Vayman with her baby

Some of my favorite moments in this work are the ones that come years apart: a family I first met at a newborn weight check, back in my office when that baby is heading off to middle school. Milton families understand that kind of long view. You chose a community that values room to grow and neighbors who know each other, and I think a pediatric practice should feel the same way.

My mother, Dr. Lyudmila Vayman, started this practice in 1989. I joined in 2018 after medical school at the Medical College of Georgia and my pediatric residency in Savannah. We’ve stayed deliberately small so that the people caring for your child actually know your child. When you call with a question, we want you to feel like you’re talking to someone who remembers your family.

QuestionAnswer
We live in Milton. How do we get to your office? We’re at 3255 North Point Parkway, Suite 102, in Alpharetta. From most of Milton it’s a short drive: take Windward Parkway or Deerfield Parkway to GA 400 and head south to the North Point area near Avalon.
We’re used to a slower pace in Milton. Will we feel rushed? We’re a small practice on purpose. We work to keep your child with the same provider for well visits, physicals and chronic care, so each visit builds on the last one instead of starting over.
Our kids are older. Is it too late to switch? Not at all. We care for children from newborns through the teen years. Call the office, complete the electronic forms, and sign a medical records release at your first visit so we can request your child’s records.

Families also come to us from across north Fulton and Forsyth. If you’re looking for an Alpharetta pediatrician, a Roswell pediatrician, a pediatrician near Johns Creek or a Cumming pediatrician, you’ll find the same newborn care, separate sick and well rooms and same-day sick visits at our North Point Parkway office.
