Pediatric and Newborn Care in Alpharetta Since 1989
Our office sits at 3255 North Point Parkway, minutes from Avalon and a short drive from downtown Alpharetta, Wills Park and the northern end of the Big Creek Greenway. We’ve cared for children in this part of Fulton County since March 1989, back when the corridor along GA 400 looked nothing like it does now. Families across 30004, 30005, 30009 and 30022 have been coming here ever since, and some of them for four generations.
Alpharetta’s growth brought a lot of pediatric offices with it, and a pattern parents notice quickly: high-volume groups that fill each open slot with whoever is available, so the provider who sees your newborn is rarely the one who sees your toddler. The World of Pediatrics works the other way. We work to keep your child with the same provider for well visits, physicals and chronic care, so the person looking at your child’s growth curve has seen it before.
Newborn Care for Alpharetta Families
Whether you deliver at Northside Hospital, where more metro Atlanta babies are born than anywhere else, or at Wellstar North Fulton Hospital in Roswell, we see newborns within 24 to 48 business hours of hospital discharge. Getting to North Point Parkway from Windward Parkway, Old Milton Parkway or Haynes Bridge Road takes minutes rather than a highway trip. In the first week home with a baby, when you may be back for more than one weight check, that is not a small thing.
Your First Visit After Hospital Discharge
- Seen within 24 to 48 business hours of discharge, whichever hospital you deliver at
- Weight compared against birth weight, plus a full newborn physical exam
- Feeding review for breastfed, formula-fed and combination-fed babies
- Jaundice assessment and a plan for follow-up
- Umbilical cord care and what to watch for at home
Feeding Support and Weight Checks
- Additional weight checks in the early weeks when a baby needs closer tracking
- Hands-on feeding support: volume, frequency, latch and bottle questions, and newborn sleep
- Reflux, gas, spit-up and stool concerns handled at the visit
Choosing a Pediatrician Before Your Due Date
Choose your pediatrician before your due date: look over our practice, check that your insurance is on our list of accepted plans and save our number. After your baby is discharged, call us and we’ll see your newborn within 24 to 48 business hours. New patient forms are electronic, so you can complete them before the first visit.
Newborn Questions from Alpharetta Parents
| Question | Answer |
|---|---|
| How quickly can we be seen after delivering, and where is your office? | Within 24 to 48 business hours of hospital discharge. We’re at 3255 North Point Parkway, Suite 102, just off GA 400 near Avalon. From Windward Parkway or Old Milton Parkway it’s a few minutes, and the drive from Wellstar North Fulton Hospital in Roswell is short. Call the office after your baby is discharged and we’ll set up the first visit. |
| What should we bring to the first newborn visit? | Your baby’s hospital discharge paperwork, your insurance card and any questions you’ve written down since you got home. Complete the electronic new patient forms before you arrive. |
Separate Sick and Well Rooms, Start to Finish
Most pediatric offices separate newborns only in the waiting room. Once you’re called back, your baby goes into the same exam rooms sick patients use. At The World of Pediatrics, sick and well patients have completely separate waiting rooms and completely separate exam rooms. A newborn checkup or a well visit never shares space with a feverish patient.

How We Compare
| Feature | The World of Pediatrics | Average Clinic | Why It Matters |
|---|---|---|---|
| Time in Alpharetta | Caring for Alpharetta children since 1989 | Many area offices opened during the last decade of growth | A practice that has treated Alpharetta children for more than 35 years now cares for the children and grandchildren of its first patients |
| Provider continuity | We work to keep well visits, physicals and chronic care with the same provider | High-volume clinics fill open slots with whoever is available | Growth curves and behavioral changes are easiest to catch when the same provider has watched them develop |
| Newborn appointment timing | Within 24 to 48 business hours of hospital discharge | Timing varies with the next available opening | Weight, feeding and jaundice issues appear in the first days home |
| Sick and well separation | Separate waiting rooms and separate exam rooms | Separate waiting area at most; shared exam rooms | Newborns and infants too young to be fully vaccinated stay away from contagious patients for the whole visit |
| Vaccination policy | Mandated vaccinations required for all patients | Policies vary by practice | Babies too young to be fully vaccinated are protected by the patients around them |
| Insurance | In-network with most insurance plans | Narrower panels vary by office | If you change jobs or plans, there’s a good chance we still take your new insurance, so you don’t have to switch pediatricians |
In-Network With Most Insurance Plans
We’re in-network with most major private plans, including Blue Cross Blue Shield of Georgia, Anthem, UnitedHealthcare, Cigna, Aetna, Oscar and Ambetter. Some plan types within these carriers are excluded. See our insurance page for the full list of accepted plans and exclusions.
What Parents Say
“It was incredibly important for me to choose the right pediatrician for my newborn daughter. A close family friend recommended Dr. Rosalie, and thank God I found her! Over the past three years, she has become like family to us because she treats my daughter as if she were her own. During every single visit, she examines her thoroughly and professionally, always providing the right diagnoses and incredibly helpful advice. I also bring my second child to her—my 11-year-old boy—and he absolutely adores Dr. Rosalie. I highly recommend her as an exceptional professional. She doesn’t need to second-guess; she understands exactly what a child needs at first glance. We love Dr. Rosalie!”

A Note from Dr. Rosalie Vayman
Alpharetta is home for this practice. My mother, Dr. Lyudmila Vayman, opened it here in March 1989, long before Avalon or the Alpha Loop, and some of the parents who bring their babies to us now were her patients as children. I joined in 2018 after medical school at the Medical College of Georgia and a pediatric residency in Savannah.
Being close matters most in a baby’s first weeks, when a family might be back for a second or third weight check and every question about feeding feels urgent. That’s why we see newborns within 24 to 48 business hours of discharge, why I spend real time with parents on feeding, and why sick and well patients never share a waiting room or an exam room here. Alpharetta parents have plenty of options. We’d like to earn yours by being the office that knows your child.
— Dr. Rosalie Vayman, MD, FAAP, The World of Pediatrics

Alpharetta Pediatric FAQ
| Question | Answer |
|---|---|
| There are a lot of pediatric practices in Alpharetta now. What actually makes one better than another? | Continuity, access when your child is sick, and whether they take your insurance. Parents comparing pediatricians in Alpharetta often find that larger groups offer more locations but less consistency in who sees their child. We’ve cared for Alpharetta children since 1989, we work to keep well visits, physicals and chronic care with the same provider, and we offer same-day sick visits. |
| Will my child see the same doctor every time? | For well visits, physicals and chronic care, we work to keep your child with the same provider. Same-day sick visits are scheduled with the first available provider so your child is seen quickly. |
| How do you handle allergy and virus season in this part of Georgia? | We get ahead of it. North Fulton’s spring pollen counts are high enough that we review asthma and allergy plans before the season rather than in the middle of it, and we offer same-day sick visits through RSV, flu and strep season in the fall and winter. Our separate sick and well rooms matter most in those months. |
Communities We Serve
Our North Point Parkway office also serves families outside Alpharetta. If you’re looking for a Cumming pediatrician, a Roswell pediatrician, a pediatrician near Johns Creek or a Milton pediatrician, you’ll find the same newborn care, separate sick and well rooms and same-day sick visits here.
